Find the right guide for a payment, refund, credit-card or bank complaint. Start with what happened, check the records, and follow the relevant official route.
CheckMatter India is an independent publication. These guides explain general consumer information and link to original records; they do not decide an individual dispute.
Payments and refunds
A payment that failed, a successful payment awaiting a merchant refund, and a debit you did not authorize need different evidence and follow-up. Read the guide that matches your transaction.
- UPI failed but money was debited: reversal timelines and complaint steps
- UPI Lite: limits, safety and balance checks
Credit cards
Keep account closure separate from temporarily blocking a card. Preserve the request acknowledgement, final statement and the issuer’s written response.
Bank complaints and fraud safety
Use support details from the bank’s own app or website. Keep one chronology and the complaint reference so each escalation can refer to the earlier response.
- An unauthorized bank debit: reporting, liability and refund rules
- Digital-arrest scams: warning signs, reporting and evidence
- Understanding RBI notifications and their effect on your bank account
Official complaint routes: NPCI UPI support and RBI Complaint Management System. Read the current eligibility and instructions on the official portal before filing. A complaint does not guarantee recovery.
